I am an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, in the Department of Portuguese and Romance Studies. I hold a PhD in Translation and Terminology (specialisation in Terminology) from NOVA University Lisbon (2022) and a degree in Portuguese Studies from the University of Porto (2001).
As a lexicographer, I lead projects at the Instituto de Lexicologia e Lexicografia da Língua Portuguesa of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences (ACL). I coordinate the development of a new digital Portuguese dictionary and launched the ACL’s first digital spelling vocabulary. I also serve as editor of the Thesaurus de Ciências da Terra, develop databases of Earth Science glossaries, and teach the course How to Make a Dictionary.
My career began at Porto Editora, where I spent nearly fifteen years managing major lexicographic projects. I later co-developed LeXmart, an open-source platform designed to make it easier for lexicographers to edit and publish lexical resources.
My research interests include lexicography, terminology, digital lexical resources, TEI-based data modelling, collaborative dictionary-making and Portuguese language editing. I collaborate with both national and international partners and have co-authored several scientific publications.
