This project aims to achieve terminological harmonisation within the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), focusing on the creation of common terminological resources to support scientific and technical communication.
Main responsibilities and tasks carried out:

Compilation and organisation of corpora:
Identification of relevant sources: legislation, scientific articles, strategic documents, reports, academic studies;
Collection and organisation of the identified documents;
Creation of a classification system to ensure accessibility and organisation;
Use of semi-automatic corpus processing tools for the extraction of relevant terminology, particularly using Sketch Engine. -
Terminology validation:
Extraction of relevant terms from the compiled corpora;
Preparation of a preliminary list of terms by thematic domain;
Consultation with experts for validation of the identified terms;
Revision and finalisation of the validated list, ensuring terminological accuracy. -
Research and verification of variants:
Identification and verification of terminological variants for each concept;
Analysis of the frequency and use of variants in the corpora;
Documentation of relevant variants for terminological standardisation;
Specific verification of variants in CPLP countries to ensure linguistic representativeness. -
Database editing:
Use of the Lexonomy database structure;
Definition of relevant categories;
Efficient organisation of data to facilitate queries and updates. -
Recording of terminological data and textual sources:
Entry of validated terms into the database;
Detailed completion of each predefined field;
Linking of terms to their textual sources, ensuring traceability and accuracy;
Cross-checking to ensure consistency and coherence of terminological data.
